Hello I’m Dr Justin Henry
Meet Dr Justin Henry:
It is with excitement and thankfulness that I announce my 10 year anniversary in Chiropractic practice as well as the first anniversary of Back-to-Life Chiropractic under my care.
I took over the Ballito practice in March 2020 from Dr de Beer and it has been a God-send! It has been wonderful to meet you and have you come through my rooms! I have thoroughly enjoyed working within this fantastic community and I look forward to the many years ahead (I am not emigrating!).
I am delighted to announce that during 2020 I was able to complete my internationally recognised sports accreditation(academic) as a sports Chiropractor and will be involved more within the sporting scene going forward – as Covid regulations allow. As a sports Chiro I deal not only with lifestyle and occupational complaints/injuries but also with a multitude of sports-related injuries.
My patients will always come first through careful treatment and management and I have a high regard for good bedside manner.
I grew up in East London, and after matriculating from Hudson Park High, initially studied a year at Rhodes for a possible career in veterinary science. I soon realised my real passion was treating people, and moved to Durban to begin my Chiropractic studies! I had been introduced to the world of chiropractic through my father, who had had successful treatments for his back.
I am a family man, who is passionate about sport and exercise, and enjoy being a part of my local community. I love the beach, bush and berg and regularly enjoy surfing, hiking, game drives, tennis, braaing, and watching the Springboks play rugby – especially when they win!
As an avid sportsman and fan, I have a particular interest in treating sports injuries and seeing sportsmen and women excel through optimal health and fitness. Treating sporting injuries has become commonplace in practice over the past 10 years.
I am a member of the Federation of International Chiropractic Sports (FICS) and am currently furthering my studies in Sports Chiropractic through FICS having completed the academic component last year. I prefer working in combination with other health professionals as a team to bring about the best overall result for the patient. I would like to encourage you to continue training or to start to train ASAP as it will change your health and life forever, especially after this Covid slump. A warning, though, is to go back to training slowly if you have had Covid as many patients around the world have had serious side-effects because of an over-zealous return to training.
These side-effects have included long term health issues or even loss of life due to respiratory or cardiovascular issues. Please get in touch with me or another health care practitioner if you are unsure about when to return, and how soon to return to exercise.
I have continued to further my studies within the scope of paediatric Chiropractic and am enjoying treating newborns and children especially since my wife and I became parents.
What is Chiropractic?
The term “Chiropractic” has Greek origins which mean “done by hand.” It is a drug free, surgery free, natural and alternative approach to health, helping a range of spinal, joint and muscular related problems.
Chiropractic dates back to 1895, when the first official adjustment (joint manipulation) was given. Since then, it has become the third most used health care profession in the world after medicine and dentistry.
Chiropractic doctors strive to achieve optimal musculoskeletal health through joint manipulation and muscle treatment techniques together with home exercise programmes to ensure long term treatment results. We employ a holistic treatment strategy combining our skill set with complimentary health professionals to ensure the best outcome for the patient.
